Someone bought this for my daughter 2 years ago (she was nearly 3) and it is the best present she's ever been given. It has never ceased to entertain her. She has had hours of amusement, it's great for car journeys and when we've needed her to entertain herself or keep quiet. The batteries lasted for ages and she's needed little supervision, and has worked most of it out for herself. She's nearly 5 now and we're planning on getting her the Vtech Advance for 5-8 year olds as she's enjoyed playing with this one so much. Never have I seen one toy entertain a child for so long. Excellent value for money... I highly recommend.

This has been one of the most fantastic purchases we have made. My daughter has had it since she was 2.5 and within 3 months, she had learnt all her numbers and letters from it. It is great for her to play with in the car on long journeys. She is now 3.5 and still plays with it, as there are games for learning first words which she is using now. I can't rate this highly enough.

This was a present for my son, I had my doubts about it's educational useage and entertainment value. however, this toy has proved to be really good and my son can play it on his own (and he's 3) and also for some of the harder task, it can be used with an adult. The language and speaker is understandable and I have found that the spelling games and maths games are very helpful for the child and fun.

Bought this for my grandson last Christmas. Very educational, has qwerty keyboard (not a.b.c.d. etc) which I think even four or five year olds can learn quite easily. So many things to do with it. My grandson mastered it far quicker than I did and he was four at the time. Excellent. Doesn't look too much like a kiddies computer. My grandson thinks he's got a proper laptop.

I would say that overall it's OK, but several negative points must be known:

- graphics are outrageously poor - to the point that it is sometimes difficult to figure out what the answer is (!)

- the activity cards once inserted in the slot are impossible to take out (at least for the child)

- one activity isn't working

- the letters on keyboard are capital, but children learn small letters first so it's mixing up what they are learning at school.

- the instructions are very minimalist, so you have to find out most explanations by yourself

- the batteries lid isn't child-safe (no screws) so doesn't comply with regulations for 4y old children.



The only positive thing I can think of is that it is rather cheap, and does ressemble to a 'grown-up' laptop, so my son is happy with it, only for the playing grown-up thing.

My 3y6m old daughter LOVES this! She got it as a gift from us when she went into hospital for an op and it kept her attention and kept her occupied. She loves playing with it. The magic wand is a bit annoying cos u have to 'feed' the wire back in and the screen is the 'old' style but nevertheless, she loves it and the praise given is very encouraging. All in all, a wonderful product!

I bought this for my 2 and a half year old daughter-she LOVES it!!



I think if you can get this for under £30 then its good value for money.



My daughter loves the magic wand that you use to select items on the laptop touch screen-thats what makes it slightly different from alot of the other computers that we had considered to buy.



It has a handy carry handle which makes it easy to take anywhere with us.



The activities are quite suitable for various ages, i thought my daughter might be abit young for the activities but i have found that her knowledge of her alphabet has certainly improved since using the laptop.



I would definately recommend this for a girl who was between 2 and 5 years old!

I bought this for my 3.5 year old last Christmas.



She loves pink and Disney princesses anyway so we knew it would probably be a hit.



The main voice is Cinderella who in my opinion has an annoying voice but to my daughter's delight she is liberal with the praise "How wonderful!" etc so it encourages her.



The games range in difficulty. Some are quite hard- for example "c*ke - what is the missing letter?" but other activities are easy - eg. pick a tune, memory so is suitable from 3 and up.

An interesting toy, of some educational value, for a 4-5 year old. The number and letter recognition games are quite good, but because the visual display is digital, it is not easy for a very young learner to recognise the letters and numbers on the screen, and the speed of the items in the 'counting game' is much too fast.



Furthermore, there are no written instructions for adults on how to operate the product, so much of it is trial and error before it can be shown to a young child.



Overall, it is a reasonably priced product for the age group it is aimed at.
